What controls the ‘Thermostat’?

• Personally held beliefs, attitudes and habits reinforce and maintain our current self image.

• We have an extremely strong instinct to stay closely inside the comfort zone that is embodied within our image of self.

• ( Remember the current Self Image originated largely from authoritative, emotional and repeated experiences we internalized, that were likely unintentional and not founded on our true capacity)

• What about Changing the Temperature?

Where would I Start? Balance Wheel

• Explore and articulate any components of your self image, beliefs, attitudes or habits that correlate with areas on the Balance wheel, both where there is dissatisfaction and satisfaction with your achievement in those areas. What’s “LIKE ME” or “NOT LIKE ME”?

Page 9: Self image and performance april9a

If You’re Stuck and need a Breakthrough

Reflect on this “Do I have to or do I want to?”

Page 10: Self image and performance april9a

Embrace a New Normal

• You don’t ‘Have To’, however if you want to you can change the way you think, change the way you talk to yourself and others towards a better future, a much more satisfying New Normal

Allow it

Page 11: Self image and performance april9a

Start Putting it Together

• Keep adding to your “Good for Me” list• This is your new emotional reservoir• Run these in “Theater of the Mind”

• Reflect and refine your Balance Wheel• Let this lead you to

examine your Purpose

• Question the things that were said to you as a child. Start to say to yourself what should have been said to you.

Home Work

• Jim Stovall - The Spider Monkey story “In my own life, what is it that I am holding on to that is keeping me from everything I’ve ever wanted?” Think and Write.

• Expand your “Good for me!” list and notice your emotions as you reflect on these successes. Pair those feelings with your Affirmations.

• Rework your balance wheel, reflecting on the alignment of your Affirmations to your life’s voyage.

• Create theater in your mind from Me, to Community
