LEAN CONCEPTS, INC Who We Are

John Veatch started LCI in 1998 after stints at several manufacturing companies including a Tier 1 supplier to Toyota’s Georgetown, KY facility.

John was trained in Toyota City Japan for 18 months by several of the most prominent TPS leaders.

LCI’s vision is to help companies embrace a Lean culture by training their employees and being instrumental in the implementations and follow-up to provide sustainability.

What We Do

We assist organizations of all types and sizes on their Lean Journey by training employees and management alike in the principles of continuous improvement using the tools of the Toyota Production System. Depending on the organization, we enter the process at various points in the journey with the goal of changing the culture to sustain the improvement process after we leave.

How We Do It

All of our engagements begin with a visit which includes a walk through the facility, and a meeting with the leadership team. This meeting is to help us understand a little about the culture, where the organization is on the journey, what their measurements are, and what are the areas of concern. After the initial visit, we prepare a customized proposal for the organization to review which includes the strategic plan, pricing and scheduling.

Why We Are Unique

Our approach to process improvement is unique in the world of other consultants. While we consult with our clients, we do not consider ourselves to be “consultants”. We believe we help our clients more by being teachers, coaches, and implementers. We Teach people the basics of the tools, then we go out with them to where the work is done and assist in the Implementation. Through the process, we develop team leaders and coach them so that we build an in-house team of continuous improvement leaders to sustain the results for the long term.

LEAN CONCEPTS, INC Why You Might Need Us

•Your Safety Record is higher than your industry standard•On-Time delivery is an accident•Your inventory is too high and not moving, or too low to meet customer demands•Your rework costs are expensive•You have excessive equipment downtime•You lose production time looking for tools/parts/materials•Customer complaints result in more inspections added to the process instead of problem solving to determine cause•Employees only show up because you pay them…not because they want to be there
