Digipak This is our final digipak design.
Dark to light gradient effect to make the inside of the
digipak more interesting and contrasting.
Inside of the digipak
Digipak
This is where the CD for the digipak is going, the CD will have the exactly
the same logo on it so it fits into the case perfectly with the outside inline with
the CD. This is the logo we have created for the band’s image.
Outside of the digipak
These are
drawings of
intimidating
animals which are
part of the house
style of the project.
They represent the
music genre and
contrast with the
colours scheme to
represent the
band’s individuality.
These are cartoon
drawn animals.
These represent
the contrast with
the other drawings
on the other side to
show the band’s
personality in their
music and to show
more individuality
within the designs.
Rock music bands
usually have
merchandise with
cartoon animals
and scenes in
them.
Faded dark corners, which is part of the house style
with the gradient effect we have used. The different
shades of blue look like the deep ocean, as if it is the
obis of the ocean. This creates the sense of the
unknown and makes the band seem mysterious and
alluring
We used the
gradient tool on
the front cover
to make it look
more
interesting. We
chose the blue
colour scheme
because blue
represents
different things
which reflects
the band’s
music and
individual
personalities.
The silhouetted
This is the summer triangle logo with the triangle paradox. It represents
infinity and is a well known illusion. We made the triangle grey to make it go
with colour scheme and stand out from the background on the front cover. We have chosen this
typography because it suits
the music genre and the
personality of the music.
This typography is part of the
genre and music style. It
shows a sense of mystery with
the faded parts of the writing
and makes it look more
interesting.We chose
different shades
of blue and grey
to write the
tracks on the
album. This
makes them
stand out and
match the colour
scheme of the
whole project.
Light to dark gradient effect to
keep a house style within the
digipak and poster. This makes
the poster and all the products
more interesting and less plain
and simple giving it a darker
edge. The idea behind the lighter
and darker sides of the house
style was to reflect the bands
image that people perceive these
types of bands as and what they
are really like.
Stereotypically, people assume
bands who play rock music are
dark and intimidating which shows
in the darker side, but it also
shows that the band has a lighter
side to their music.
Release date, band name, album
name. This typography matches the
digipak cover typography making
the style more memorable for the
audience. The typography style
suits the music genre and the album
because it gives it a sense of
mystery with the dark patches in the
writing. ‘Splatter’ effect to suit the music
and catch the audience’s eye to
the information. This also
reflects the stereotypical
‘darkness’ of this type of music
that so many people think are
about. As well as this, it also
gives the album and the band a
sense of mystery because of
the shadowed typography.
Poste
r
Digipak front cover matching
the main house style and colour
scheme. There is a black
border around the digipak
design so it stands out more
from the rest of the background
and shows it is the what the
poster is selling.
Intimidating images of animals
with their opacity turned down
in the background. This makes
sure they don’t distract the
audience from the important
information and makes it stand
out more. The animals suit the
music genre and the contrast
with the colour scheme making
them stand out more.
This is the logo we have created for the band’s image. The colours and
typography stands out from the rest of the poster which makes it more
memorable for the audience. The colours and typography of the logo reflect the
band with a fun a quirky personality. This is what most rock bands are really like
behind the ‘dark’ music. Therefore this brings out the lighter side of their
personalities and music.
Record label logo in the left hand corner and not
faded to stand out but also so it is out of the way
from the main information.
The noise effect on the
background gives the poster a bit
of texture and makes it look more
interesting with the gradient colour
scheme. It may not be noticed as
much as everything else, but it’s
the subtle things that make a bug
difference in advertising.
Music Video This is our final music video design.
We have used the band’s
logo at the start of the
video to dedicate it to the
real band.
We have shown an image of a guitar to
show the surroundings of the character’s
room and to set the scene. A electric guitar
in the video represents the music genre and
shows that the character in the room is
interested in this genre of music because of
the guitar.
We have included a character longboarding
through the town. Longboarding is part of
this kind of genre of music. It is a
stereotyped as a rebellious act, skating
through town with jeans and a hoody. This
represents the stereotypical character who
listens to this type of music. We wanted to
challenge the conventions of this music
genre and show that this is a passive
character rather than the stereotypical
‘skater boy’.
This scene is a gathering of friends around a
fire, which is something some music videos
do, have a party or gathering with friends to show
them having fun.
The costumes the actors wear are
mostly band t-shirts, hoodies and
beany hats. These are conventional
outfits that teenagers and
characters in rock music videos
would wear because it suits the
genre of music and relates to the
audience of the video.
Overall we have kept a few conventional ideas
that are in most rock music videos and tried to
relate to our audience as much as possible with
the genre and stereotypes. We also challenged
some ideas in the video such as the non-
rebellious skater and the teenagers in hoodies
having fun instead of causing trouble as they
are known for in some perspectives.
