From looking at thriller movies, our group decided on making The Dark Knight our main approach. We liked the different camera angles that they used and the way they showed their conventions.

On our media product, we showed an interrogation scene where the interrogator is interviewing the suspect and we used a over the shoulder camera shot, the same way it was in The Dark Knight when Batman was asking The Joker questions.

From looking at The Dark Knight, there was a long shot of The Joker and Batman at either side of the table during the interrogation and for our media product we used the same camera shot as we wanted to display the body language of the officer who is upright and concentrated whereas the body language of the suspect is slouching and impatient.

This shows The Joker in the dark from the film; The Dark Knight low key lighting is representing his dark secrets. For our film Interrogation, we used the same medium shot and low key lighting to show the dark secrets that the suspect is hiding as he did see the dead bodies. Also, the low key lighting is one of the conventions we used from the thriller movie research we under took. therefore we decided to use low key lighting so that our film follows the conventions of a thriller genre opening.
