The title of the magazine stands out the most as it is bold and large so you cant miss it.The masthead is unusual as it is placed side ways on the magazine, this draws readers to it as it is a unique technique as most magazines have theirs at the top of the front cover.

The main image stands out as it takes up the majority of the page and also stands out as the colours used make a good contrast to the magazine overall.

The sub titles are on the right side of the page so this makes you focus on what the magazine will contain inside, just as your about to turn the page.

The contents title is the biggest font on the page, this corresponds to the front cover as it is in the same font and positioning as before.

The main image is the main feature you focus on when you see and read this page.

Her lips are pink which may be used to draw the reader in.

Direct mode of address is used to intrigue the reader.

In this picture she has an indirect mode of address, this is because the text is the main focus of this page.

The main picture takes up the majority of the page which draws the readers attention to it.

The text is laid out neatly and orderly into columns so it is easy for the reader to follow whilst reading it.

Small pictures used perhaps to keep the readers intrigued and widen their imagination on what they are reading about.

Although billboard doesn’t have a distinct logo this logo and the one before (plain black bold writing) allows this magazine to have more recognition. Billboard magazine fill the letters b,o,a and d with the colours red, pink blue and yellow which allows the masthead to be flexible with each issue.

Rihanna is the main image of this front cover. Her music genre is mainly R&B and Hip-hop, the use of her links to billboard as she doesn’t conform to one style which allows the billboard audience to have a wider range of preferences to choose from and still cater for everyone's likes.

The use of this quote acts to automatically grab the readers attention. The quote suggests she discloses this information with billboard and only with the magazine audience know who she is. Readers love to know they have access to knowing exclusive information, so by having this draws attention.

The background used is very dark, however Rihanna is lit up as she is the main focus. The photo is a large medium shot which allows her to take up the majority of the page. The use of her red hair is the most vibrant colour on the page which would attract attention to her.

The Billboard logo is still placed on the page, however it is made very small because it allows the contents to become the main feature of the page.

The main feature of this page is Keri Hilson an R&B singer. The image of her is quite edgy and she is wearing a grey dress with a short black bob. There colours have a nice finishing contrast as they work well with the other colours on the page.

These images are of artists which are featured to show the readers they will be further on in the magazine. This will draw the readers attention to them to give them an insight what to expect. By having these artists gives the magazine a variety of genres to the audience.

This layout and text makes use of the Rule of Third as each third consists of a column of text.

The main image of Rihanna consists of her sitting on a large pink tank truck. This demonstrates her power, strength and current domination of the charts. Her costume is funky and army style but she remains feminine and will appeal to both genders.
