Amid declining performance, Cisco's video segment is moving away from hardware and cable to a cloud and software oriented focus.

By 2020, Cisco estimates that video will account for 75% of the world's data usage.

Many of these acquisitions have landed under Cisco's security research group Talos—which tracks threats across Cisco's networks and works to minimize the threat of IoT communications.
