•A volcano is a hill or mountain formed by erupted material that
piles up around the vent.

• In March 1980 Mount St Helen’s awoke from its long sleep.
• It exploded. • An explosion is called an eruption.• The force of the eruption was so great that
entire forests were blown down like rolls of match sticks.
