Introduction
GPS stands for Global Positioning System, it is used for navigation. Space based satellites are used which gives
the exact information about a particular location and tells correct time to reach the destination.
How It Works
The GPS navigation system is a network of 24 satellites placed in Earth's
orbit by the U.S. Department of Defense. It provides correct location and time information at
any position whether its a day or night, under all weather conditions.

a graphical format,
GPS represents turn-by-turn navigation directions to a human in charge of a vehicle or via text or speech, directions fed directly to an automatic vehicle.
It can suggest the shortest route distance between the two locations.
It also represents the area with traffic congestion.

A-GPS stands for Assisted Global Positioning Service.
This service enables a user to navigate through his phone too.

A-GPS technology was introduced for mobile devices, it takes assistance from GPRS and service provider network. A typical A-GPS mobile phones uses a GPRS or other networks for developing a connection with the server of A-GPS.
