based on your experience and thoughts.

YOU TAKE AWAY WHAT YOU WANT TO TAKE AWAY

What are some of the things that happened recently in your country, in Asia Pacific, and in the world that really piqued your emotions ?

How does it affect us as an organization?

Why do you think we do what we do as AIESEC?

Some Questions

10min

Let’s take a look at an extract from the AIESEC WAY about Our Why

Our Why

In todays context, peace doesn’t just mean avoiding war, but can symbolize a world where conflict doesn’t arise from cultural, religious or other aspects of differences in humanity.”“

Peace can also symbolise harmony with yourself and a world where everyone can work towards their own understanding of peace while respecting each others views and striving to be the best versions of themselves , hence AIESEC’s Why is “ Peace & Fulfilment of Humankind’s Potential”“– The AIESEC Way

Our HowPart 2:

Imagine

You enter the room and sit at your desk. There is an important matter at hand.

The year is 2030. More than 3000 lives have been taken because of the war on drugs.

Violent shootings have been made at residential areas. Many innocent lives have been taken. Since your office as the Prime Minister, you have legalised and supported the killings on anyone who is a “drug pusher”.

Majority of the people killed were the vulnerable who are really victims of poverty turning to the drug trade to make a living. The international community is putting pressure on you by stopping trade with you.

You are the Prime Minister.Write the script for a speech to be broadcast to the nation in your native language in which you explain why this was only option available to you and one which was both necessary and moral. You have 7 minutes

What is this exercise making you

feel?

10 minutesUse this time to process your thoughts. You can choose to do so by yourself or

with someone else.

What are the thoughts you had that you left out of your speech?

What are the thoughts you had that you incorporated in your speech cause you felt it was the right thing to say?

When you visualise yourself giving the speech, which parts of it do you feel you said just because of your position

Would the actions of the prime minister be different if he/she lived through one of AIESEC’s leadership development experiences?
