To my fellow Elks! I am so excited to begin this journey for the next year with all of you. I
would like to thank you for your show of confidence in me by electing me
your 2017-2018 Exalted Ruler. Let's make this a year to remember.
Last year you saw many changes around the lodge to improve the space for
our members and our guests. This coming year we are hoping to add more
improvements to help make our Lodge shine. Some of the updating will
not be as noticeable, but will be done for the safety of our building.
Many of our officers are back, with a shuffle of positions for some and the
next step up for others. Two new faces to get to know are Dennis Joiner,
our Lecturing Knight and Eric Bennett, our Tiler. If you see them,
introduce yourself, welcome them and thank them for stepping up and
offering their time to keep our lodge thriving. All are committed to
volunteering their time and energy to make Roseville Lodge #2248
successful and an asset in our community.
As the Club Manager I got to know a lot of our members and have tried to
remember all of your names. I have to confess that remembering names is
not my strong suit. I will be wearing my name tag this year and I ask that
you do the same. I once had a button that read, "That's OK I do not
remember your name either".
I love this Lodge and believe it is the best in the district. We are planning
to add some social events having one each month. I hope you enjoyed the
St. Patrick Day party. Lorraine McIntyre and her committee did a great job.
We are going to have some Dinner/Dances, no particular theme just an
evening of good food and dancing. Please plan to join in the fun. If you
have any concerns or suggestions on how we can make our Lodge better for
you and your guests, please let me know. I promise you that the more you
come out and volunteer, the more you will enjoy your Lodge experience.
Again, thank you all for your support. Thank you to all the previous
Exalted Rulers for paving the way and availing us with their wisdom.
Let's go forward and make Lodge #2248 the best place to be in the State.
Let's have fun.
Fraternally ,
Elli Platz, Exalted Ruler
