Maximo Everyplace - Overview

• A tool that allows configuration of Maximo applications for use on mobile devices

• Provides real-time visibility into your organization’s Maximo environment

• Mobile applications are streamlined to make the controls easy to use on touch screen devices.

• Included with Maximo 7.6• Works across iPhones/iPads and

Android devices, as long as they are connected to internet and use a Maximo supported browser

− Role specific mobile apps that can be installed on a portable device− Hybrid application model – works on both connected and disconnected devices− Control the frequency of connection between the app and Maximo MobileFirst

Initial Setup for Maximo Everyplace

• Configure Viewports based on the screen resolution of your mobile devices

• Set up at a mobile Start Center that is displayed when you log in from a mobile device

Creating Mobile Applications

• To create a mobile version of an application, clone the existing application in Application Designer and select the “Is Mobile” checkbox.

• Alternatively, create a new application and select the “Is Mobile” checkbox.

• Set a size for the Viewport based on the screen size of your mobile device.

• Delete unnecessary fields, buttons and sections for a simpler design.

• A red border outlines the portion of the application visible on the chosen viewport.

Modifying Mobile Applications

• Move fields from the right side of the application screen to the bottom to avoid horizontal scrolling

• Use multiple tabs to avoid excessive vertical scrolling

• Convert Select Action options to toolbar buttons

• Increase the width of text boxes to display complete information wherever applicable

Deploying Mobile Applications

• Add users and assign the start center template to the Everyplace Security Group

• Users must configure their start centers on a desktop computer first (one-time configuration)

• Go To menu is not displayed, use Favorite Applications or Result Set portlets instead
