Superwool insulation
Superwool is a high temperatureinsulating fibre blanketmanufactured from CalciumMagnesium Silicate. This materialhas a thermal performanceequivalent to refractory ceramicfibre up to 1200'C. However, unlike ceramic fibre, Superwoolis body soluble and has a largerneedle particle size. Thesequalities mean that Superwoolrepresents a lower respiratoryhazard than ceramic fibre,
Stock Reference
although, as with all hightemperature insulating fibre, normal respiratory protection inthe form of an appropriate dustmask should be worn duringhandling.
Superwool is available in a rangeof mat sizes, protected by astainless steel mesh to extendthe working life of the insulation.Alternatively, Superwool is alsosupplied in unmeshed rolls.

Mannings Rexible Ceramic Pad (FCP)Heating Elements
9 IMANNINGS!
Mannings use the highestquality materials available inthe construction of our FlexibleCeramic Pad (FCP) heatingelements. These materialsmake the heating elementshighly durable, which extendsthe usable life of Manningsheating elements beyond thatnormally expected. Thisextended life, high durabilityand reliability combine to saveyou money by:
o Reducing reworks and losttime due to heating elementfailures.
o Reducing your annual costsfor replacing or repairing failedor damaged heating elements.
Mannings ceramic heatingelements are constructed from

high grade sintered aluminaceramic beads, Nickel-Chromecore wire and Nickel cold tailwire. The construction allowsthe heating element to beflexible and provides high heattransfer efficiency.
Mannings insist on using highquality, ceramic beads, with ahigh resistance to thermal andphysical shock, in theconstruction of FCP ceramicheating elements.
The important physicalproperties, which make thesebeads superior to other beadsused in the heat treatmentindustry, are detailed in theceramic bead physicalproperties table below:

These beads are supplied toMannings by one of the leading,ISO 9002 accredited, specialistceramic manufacturers in theceramic industry.
The cold tails of Manningsceramic heating elements arebutt welded to the heater corewire which eliminates the coldtail/core wire junction failuresoften seen with low qualityheaters which use steel ferrules.
By selection, from the extensiverange of Mannings FCP heatingelements, any pipe size or pipeconfiguration can be coveredso that the correct amount ofheating power can be appliedto successfully heat treat thepipe weld or other fabrication.Mannings FCP heatingelements are manufacturedwith a range of power ratingsfor use with a selection ofstandard voltages. If you requireany special heating elementconfiguration, voltage or powerrating, Mannings will use theirheat treatment engineeringexpertise to provide you with aheating element custom built tomeet your exact needs.
Mannings FCP heatingelements can, if handledcorrectly, be used approximatelyfifty times at temperatures up to10500C (1922F).
Mannings can provide highertemperature heating elementsif required which can be usedrepeatedly at temperatures upto 12000C (2192F).

ManningsThe well renowned Mannings6 channel Automatic P256Programmer/Controller, has beendeveloped to be used inconjunction with Mannings' heattreatment Transformer Units toprovide automatic temperatureprocess control of up to sixTransformer Unit outputchannels.
Each control channel can eitherbe operated for manualtemperature control of theworkpiece, or in automatic mode.
In automatic mode, the channelcontroller will ensure that thecontrol zone temperature closelyfollows the temperature rise, holdand fall and hold periodparameters programmed bythe operator.
By means of microprocessorcontrolled programming, LCDdisplay and push buttonoperation, programming andoperation of the unit are keptsimple and user friendly.
degrees centigrade, as this levelof negative temperature couldindicate a potentially hazardousreversed thermocouple condition.
The LCD display provides visualindication of the running heattreatment program status andcontrol zone output. In addition, individual control zone noonsindicate when a control zonecontactor is energised.
An important feature of the P256is the 'Reversed ThermocoupleCut -out.' This featureautomatically cuts out the controlzone contactor, and hence heaterpower, when any control zonethermocouple input indicates atemperature of minus forty

Mannings
Mannings mobile power units haveachieved a world wide reputationfor cost effective design, qualityand reliability. The units are builtand tested by qualified engineers, the reputation of the Manningsbrand stands amongst the bestin the world.
Mannings power units have beensuccessfully operated on heattreatment projects in some of themost demanding climates aroundthe world, for almost 50 years.
I The power units are housed in arigid heavy gauge sheet steelcabinet and are finished in adurable high quality paint finish. They have a low centre of gravity,
and are well balanced with mobilitybeing provided by four 6" wheels.
Technical Description - this unitprovides a 60 volt supply forpowering various types of lowvoltage heating elements.
The unit consists of an air natural3 phase transformer which is builtinto a well finished and compactlydesigned robust sheet steel case, switching is by contactors and itsrugged and reliable design givesthe unit long on site working life.
The output channels are controlledby means of energy regulators andtemperature controllers, provision ismade for connection to external
control from any compatibleprogramrner/control unit.
Each channel has its ownauto/manual switch so anychannel can be operated eitherautomatically, via an externalcompatible programmer unit, ormanually by means of the internalenergy regulator andtemperature controller.
The unit is protected againstovercurrent and coreovertemperature conditions and hasa facility to be tripped remotely froma compatible 11OVoutput device(forexample a remote workpieceovertemperature device).

Temperature Chart RecorderStock Reference: 40006
Mannings
The 12 point Chino TemperatureRecorder has been chosen byMannings as the standardrecording instrument for on-sitepre and post weld heat treatment.
Each recorder is contained withina rugged steel case to minimisewear and tear, with rear mountedthermocouple sockets for ease ofconnection and with a 2m, 11OVa.c. power lead, with fitted threepin 11OVplug.
The standard scale supplied iso - 1200 degrees C, other scalescan be provided on request.Power supply and chart drive
switches are accessible from thefront of the recorder via a clearglass door.
Chart drive speed can be variedin 4 discrete steps to represent12.5, 25, 50 or 100mm per hourby selecting the appropriate pushbutton setting on the front panel.
A fast advance feature is alsofound on this panel.
With the chart drive speed setat 50mm per hour, each chartrefillwill last for approximately360 hours.
A printed waming is visible on theright side of the chart 12 hoursprior to a refill being required.
Each input is individually recordedon the chart paper using a multicoloured printing system.
The chart and the scale plateare illuminated by an integral striplight contained within the doorassembly.
