On June 7, 2021, Fr. Beau Charbonnet will have been ordained a Catholic priest for 18 years! Out of sincere appreciation for the gift of his spiritual fatherhood, we are inviting all St. Angela Merici parishioners to participate in a Spiritual Bouquet for Fr. Beau. For those unfamiliar with the practice of Spiritual Bouquets, these are prayers or devotional acts that someone (the giver) has or will offer for someone else (the recipient). This can be the number of Masses attended, Holy Communions offered, Rosaries and/or other prayers said, or even good deeds performed. This is a special way for us to join together in prayer–spiritually supporting our beloved pastor. To participate go to https:/stangela.org/spiritual-bouquet-for-fr-beau/ or scan the QR code.
Jorge was born and raised in Miami, Florida and has been living in NOLA for the last 5 years. He is going into his second year of Theology at Notre Dame Seminary. He will be with us at St. Angela Merici for the next 8 weeks. Please keep Jorge and all seminarians in your prayers as they prepare for the priesthood.

Church Support
Week of May 30, 2021 Weekly Collection………………………...……$ 12,010.11 Thank you to all who support our parish each week!
Linen Committee Our Church Linen Committee welcomes all Parishioners willing to share their talents, skills, and gifts to join in the cleaning and ironing of our liturgical linens. The two types of Liturgical Linens requiring cleaning by our Committee are: Purificators and Finger Towels, which are used to cover or purify the liturgical vessels used during our Eucharistic celebrations at mass and for washing the Celebrant’s hands. The Purificators are rectangular white pieces of linen used to clean/purify the chalice and other ancillary vessels for the Precious Body and Blood of Christ after Communion. The Finger Towels, or Lavabo Towels, are used during the washing of hands and also after Communion. Our Committee plays a vital role by ensuring the proper cleansing of these linens that are used out of reverence for the celebration of the memorial of the Lord and the banquet that gives us his body and blood. If you would like to join in the fellowship of our parish community, please contact Marie Desalvo at 504-831-8891 for more information.

Feast of Faith The Corpus Christi Procession In the thirteenth century, a Belgian nun by the name of Juliana had a vision: she saw the full moon silvery and radiant except for one dark spot. The meaning of the vision was revealed to her: the moon was the Church’s liturgical year, the dark spot a missing feast in honor of the Blessed Sacrament. Today’s feast of Corpus Christi—the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ—grew from Juliana’s vision. On this feast, many parishes observe the traditional Corpus Christi procession, giving honor to the Eucharist by carrying this greatest treasure out of the safety of our churches and into our streets. At the end of every Mass we are not just let out, we are sent forth, strengthened by the Eucharist, to be the Body of Christ in the world. The Corpus Christi procession is the dismissal writ large! We take Jesus with us, not only in our hearts, but carried in our midst and exposed in a monstrance. It is a public profession of faith and a blessing of the world. Jesus walks with us on these streets that we walk day after day, among those who know him but yearn to know him better, and among those who do not know him. The Eucharist is a mystery to be believed, to be celebrated—and to be lived. —Corinna Laughlin, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
