Aerial Silks

•You are 50 feet in the air•Silks come in many different colors and

different type of fabric•Very dangerous profession

•Causes minor injuries such as fabric burns, bruises, and dizziness

•More serious injuries include broken legs and arms, concussions, and maybe paralysis

•Lyra/Hoop

• Circular and made out of metal• Lighter hoops spin easier

• First lyra act was performed by Caedo• Horizontal Lyras first appeared in Germany

• Trapeze was first invented in the 1820’s.• Jules Leotard was the first person to perform

on the flying trapeze.• Trapeze is considered the most physically

demanding acts in the circus.
