1. Inner edges are shawn by sections running along the

center line.

One assumes that the front half of the workpiece is cut

away.

The section areas are shaded, not the hollow spaces.

2. The shading l ines are the thin unbroken l ines which areangled at 45' to the center l ine or angled to the base

edge.

3. The smaller the section area the closer the shading l ines.

4. Very narrow areas (e.g. angles in crass sections) areblackened. Blackened areas of different pieces are slightly

separated.

5. Angled section areas are shaded at 45' to main

d i r e c t i o n .

6. Assembled workpieces are identified by apposite or varied

shading.

Section areas of one abject are always shaded in the

s a m e d i r ec t i o n .

7. In order to insert dimension f igures the shading has to

be broken.

8. No visible edges run through section areas ~ concealed

edges in section drawings are to be avoided, if possible.
