A Guide to ROSI This guide will provide you with an overview of key elements of the online student information system, ROSI.

First-Time Users

To access ROSI, enter www.rosi.utoronto.ca

Click here to login to ROSI.

Read the instructions on “First time user” link.

Read the instructions carefully and set your PIN.

Enter your student number (found on your letter of admission).

Enter your PIN number (your birthdate: YYMMDD, eg. April 23, 1987 = 870423.

Click “Login”.

You will be asked to change your temporary PIN number.

DO NOT USE: • Your birth date • Telephone number • Parts of your address • Sequences such as

123456 or 111111.

Your PIN must be a six digit number.

Click “Submit”.

If you forget your PIN, the questions you select in this section help you reactivate it.

Click on any three questions for which you definitely know the answer and/or there is only one possible answer.

Click “Answer Questions”.

You can choose to “see” or “not see” what you are typing.

When you are done, click “Answer Questions”.

If needed, you may also click “Change Questions” to select a different security question.

Personal Information

It is CRITICAL to ensure your address, phone numbers, e-mail and emergency contact information is kept up to date.

Don’t forget to record your cellular number, and update it if you change numbers.

To review address, click “Address”.

Click “Edit” to change any information.

Ensure your current mailing address is correct.

Indicate how long this address can be used to reach you.

Indicate whether you are living on campus.

Enter your phone number. Click “Save”.

Review the information.

Click “Confirm” to save the information.

Click “Contact Info” on the top line.

ROSI will confirm that your address has been changed.

Click “Edit” or “Delete” to change your Emergency Contact and Next of Kin Contact information.

Your Emergency Contact is someone who can get to you quickly in case of an emergency.

Your Next of Kin Contact is someone who can identify you in the case of an accident.

Fill in the information for your emergency contact.

Click “Save”.

Review information.

Click “Confirm” to save.

Click “Other Personal Info” on the top line.

Please review the information on this page and make sure that it is correct. In case of any changes, please contact the Office of the Registrar, as most of this information will require you to provide documentation for it to be changed.

Once you activate your utoronto e-mail after receiving your Security Access Key (SAK) with your TCard, ROSI should get updated automatically with your utoronto e-mail address. Please double check.

Your e-mail will usually be in the format of “First.LastName” @mail.utoronto.ca.

This is the only account the university will use to communicate with you.

It is your responsibility to check your @mail.utoronto.ca e-mail regularly to ensure you do not miss critical information from the university.

Forwarding your @mail.utoronto.ca e-mail to another account is not recommended.

E-mail: The university will use e-mail to contact you about any official business.

You will be assigned an @mail.utoronto,ca e-mail account.

Course Enrolment

Enter the activity (course) code and the section code.

Click “Submit”.

Prior to your course enrolment start date, consult the course calendar and timetable to select your courses.

Click “Add Meeting Sections.”

If a LECture, TUTorial and/or PRActical section is listed, you must select one time from each category.

ROSI will let you know if the course has been added.

You can continue to add courses.

When you’re done selecting your courses below, click “LIST COURSES” to ensure your course(s) have been added.

ROSI will list all of your courses.

You can then: • “Manage” your

course (shows pertinent details),

• “View timetable” (displays all course selections on a weekly schedule),

• “Drop Course” (to cancel a course).

If you click “Drop Course,” this screen will appear.

If you are sure you want to drop the course, click “Confirm”.

ROSI will display a screen showing you have successfully dropped the course.

Click “List Courses”.

ROSI will provide a revised list of courses.

Every time you ADD or DROP a course, there are ACADEMIC and FINANCIAL implications.

If the course you want is full, you can choose to be placed on a waiting list. Choosing the Waitlist option does not guarantee that you will get into the course.

If a space becomes free, ROSI will notify you by e-mail. Or you can view it in your course enrolment and financial account sections on ROSI.

Click “Join Waitlist” to be placed on the waiting list.

Personal Timetable

View your timetable by clicking on “Personal Timetable”.

Subjects POSt (Programs of Study)

When you enter 2nd year (4.0 – 8.5 credits), you will be required to choose a Subject POSt (Program Of Study) ie. Specialists, Majors and/or Minors.

Click “Add a Subject Post”.

Academic History and Transcripts

Click “Transcripts & Academic History” to view your marks at any time.

Click on appropriate option to “Display” or “Request” an Official Transcript.

You can choose to have your name appear or not appear on your grade sheet.

You may also select your complete academic record or just the past session.

Then click “Display Academic History”.

Click “Guide to Academic History” for an explanation of codes used in the transcript.

You can print a paper copy from the browser print tools.

Once you have completed a few courses, your marks will be displayed here. Your Sessional and Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) is calculated at the end of the session as well as Credits Earned.

At some point in your academic career, you may need to send a transcript of your grades to another institution.

Click “Academic Institution” for a list of schools to which your transcript can be delivered.

Click “Custom Recipient” to manually enter the delivery information.

Financial Information

You can check your financial information at any time.

Click “Show Invoice” for a snapshot of your current charges.

Click “Show Detailed Report” for a list of all charges on your account.

Please note the account number: “XXXXX##########” (First 5 letters of surname plus your student number with leading zeros, if necessary, to total 10 digits).

The “Minimum Payment to Register” has to be paid to the account number shown above by AUGUST 21, 2013. Payment can be made via: Online banking In-person banking OSAP deferral Third Party billing Bank Drafts / Money

Order (sent directly to Student Accounts).

Click “Guide to the Detailed Report” for an explanation of the codes.

The Detailed Report lists all tuition fees for the courses taken and administrative charges to your account.

Click here for a list of payments to your account.

Only those students who applied and qualify for OSAP may request a fee deferral.

To view your Tax forms click “Tax Forms” (available in late February).

Click on the link to display your T2202A tax form and print the PDF file.

Absence Declaration

If you click “Absence Declaration” this screen will appear.

When classes are in session, further instructions will appear.

You should declare your absence on ROSI if you miss any course work or a final exam.

Activity Log

The “Activity Log” button allows you to review all of your activity on ROSI.
