Summer has arrived for most of our parish families, especially those who have children in school….but that doesn’t mean the activity of the parish has come to a halt. Summer is a time for renewing and reassessing the prior year and beginning to make plans for the year to come.

Some of the plans we make are long planned for others come a surprises. One of the changes we will be making at the par-

ish is the departure of Mrs. Irma Alarcon de Rangel as Director of Chil-dren’s Faith Formation. Irma will be appointed at the beginning of July as the new director of The Institute for Leadership in Ministry for the Diocese of San Jose. We, as a parish, wish her the very best in thanksgiving for the work she has done leading her team in helping to form the children, as well as their families, as members of our Catholic faith.

Please pray for Irma and the parish during this time of transition as we begin our search for a new director. (Continued on page 5...)

Para la mayoría de las familias de nuestra parroquia, ha lle-gado el verano, especialmente para aquellos que tienen ni-ños en la escuela ... pero eso no significa que la actividad de la parroquia se haya detenido. El verano es una temporada para renovar y reevaluar el año anterior y comenzar a hacer

Algunos de los planes que hacemos están planeados desde hace tiempo pero otros lleguen de sorpresa. Uno de los cambios que haremos en la parroquia es el reemplazo de la Sra. Irma Alarcon de Rangel como Direc-tora de la Formación de Fe para Niños. Irma nos deja a principios de julio porque fue nombrada como la nueva directora del Instituto para el Lide-razgo en el Ministerio de la Diócesis de San José. Nosotros, como parro-quia, le deseamos lo mejor la damos las gracias por el trabajo que ha rea-lizado liderando a su equipo para ayudar a formar a los niños, así como a sus familias, como miembros de nuestra fe católica.

The Religious Education Congress offers more than 200 speakers presenting over 300 workshops for catechists and other ministers.

We thank everyone who participated in the parish survey concerning hospitality last week. If you did not fill out the form either electronically on our parish website or on paper please do so. Many exciting things are occurring because of the past surveys. We are in the process of planning different aspects of hospitality that we hope will make us all, whether we have been here for decades of just a few weeks, to feel Jesus’ welcome to come and share at the table of the Eucharist.

Open registrations! For the children’s catechesis

We offer the following programs:

PRESCHOOL: St. Lucy offers catechesis for early childhood (Ages 3-5). Sundays from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM (in English).

GRADES K-6: Catechesis in English. The children receive the First Communion after their 2nd year of catechesis (no counting Kindergarten). Sundays from 10:00 to 11:15 AM or Wednesdays from 4 to 5:15 PM. We also offer ongoing catechesis.

GRADES 1-6: Catechesis in Spanish. The children receive the First Communion after their 2nd year of catechesis. Sundays from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM or Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:15 PM. We also offer on-going catechesis.

Register your children on time in the parish office on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am - 6pm.

• RCIA: Preparation for Adults looking to join the Catholic Church through full Initia-tion and receiving Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.

• Marriage Preparation for Engaged Couples/civilly Married: Marriage prepara-tion for newly engaged couples and those looking to "convalidate" their civil mar-riages are welcome to attend our quarterly marriage preparation sessions and re-treat.

• Parent Faith Formation: Bi-monthly meetings for parents of children paired with our Faith Formation pro-gram. This year we are studying Bishop Barron's Catholicism Series.
