Literary contest

O Concurso Literário "Amílcar Quaresma", iniciativa da Escola Secundária João de Deus, através da sua Biblioteca, tem como principal objectivo incentivar entre os jovens a leitura e a escrita. Este concurso tem periodicidade anual e a entrega de prémios decorrerá no dia 8 de Março, "Dia do Patrono”, na Biblioteca Escolar. Segundo o regulamento, são admitidos a concurso trabalhos de poesia, prosa ou ensaio, em língua portuguesa, e ilustrações (originais e inéditos até à data da decisão final). Os trabalhos a concurso devem ser entregues de 4 de Janeiro de 2010 até ao dia 8 de Fevereiro de 2010 (inclusive) na Biblioteca da ESJD. School Newspaper

"Preto no Branco"  has been our school newspaper for a long time. However, there hasn't been any issue of this newspaper for the last four years that´s why our class - 10th B and the Photography and Design Course have decided to bring it back to life.    A new set of 'journalists' not only interested in developing their writing skill, but also eager to provide information, was chosen for this task. So, 'Preto no Branco' has been back since October!
