Weekend in Madrid
If you only have a weekend in this amazing city then this is what we think you
must do!
Plaza Mayor
During the summer months, all the restaurants and
cafes put their tables out on the square – it’s a
wonderful place to have a coffee and watch the world
go by!
Located right in the heart of Madrid, the Plaza Mayor was
originally built in the Habsburg era and has been
rebuilt three times since then due to destructive
fires…
El Palacio Real
The architecture is very impressive and it is
definitely worth going inside to see all the history
of the place!
The Palace is located on thesite of a 9th Century fortressand is the official residenceof the Spanish Royal Family
Museo del Prado
It holds works by worldfamous artists such as
Goya, Rubens andVelázquez
This is the main Spanish artmuseum and it houses around
7600 paintings!
Retiro Park
It’s one of the largest parks in thecity and is filled with beautiful
statues and monuments!
If you’re looking for a fun afternoon activity, rent a
boat on the lake and enjoy the stunning scenery!
Estadio Santiago Bernabéu
With a capacity of around 85,000,this is one of the most impressive
stadiums in the world!
If you’re in Madrid over a weekend and Real Madrid are playing, you must go and enjoy the incredible
atmosphere!
