• In this street you can buy anything.

• There are a lot of clothes shops and other things.

• Everybody in Badalona goes to this street to meet with their friends.

Badalona Museum

Badalona was once a Roman city called Baetulo. It was founded in the 1st century b.c.

You can see an old excavation in the area of the roman forum of the city at the Museum.

• Santa Maria church is the most beautiful and the most important church in Badalona.

Sant Geroni de la Murtra

• It is one of the mountains that surrounds Badalona.

• It’s very beautiful, and there is a small church on it.

L’Anís del Mono

• It’s a factory that produces a spirit made of herbs and anise.

• This factory is the oldest in Badalona. It’s very big!

• It’s the most beautiful place in Badalona.

• In the summer, a lot of people go to the beach every day.

• In the winter, some people who practise bodyboarding, surfing, and skimboarding.

Els castellers

• When we have a fiesta in the city some people make “castells”. They are big castles of people.

• This tradition is all over Catalonia.

Les festes de maig.

• In May, we celebrate a week-long festival. During this week, we have concerts, “correfocs”... and the party ends with “la cremada del dimoni”. (It’s when we burn a devil made from cardboard and wood).

La cavalcada dels reis• On the night of 5th

January, we watch the Orient Magic Kings riding in carriages and throwing sweets.

• When we go to sleep, they give us presents like Santa Claus.

• The next day, we eat a cake (tortell de reis) with the family.

• This is a tradition celebrated all over Spain.

Sant Jordi• On 23th April boys used to give a rose to

girls,and girls used to give a book to boys. But now it’s changing and everybody gives books to everyone else.It’s a very beautiful and happy day! It’s a tradition all over Catalonia.

Sant Joan

• 23th June is the longest night of the year.

• We celebrate this night with firecrackers.

• It’s a familiar and friendly party.

where you can go on Sunday afternoons if you are more than 14 years old, and on Friday and Saturday nights if you are older than 16 years.
