Detailed ItineraryDAY 1 YANGON ARRIVAL

On arrival at Yangon International Airport, you are welcomed by our tour guide and transferred to your hotel. After refreshment, you embark on a city tour including:(1) China Town noted for its fruit market, delicious street foods and old world atmosphere.

(2) Downtown Yangon’s Sule Pagoda, City Hall, Independence monument and old colonial buildings. (3) A visit to the magnificent and world famous Shwedagon Pagoda, known for its religious significance and artistic beauty.(4) A welcome dinner at the Karaweik Palace Barge on the Royal Lake with great views of the Shwedagon Pagoda. DAY 2 YANGON – HEHO – KALAW (by air)

We fly to the Heho airport the gateway to the cool weather highlands of Shan state and take a 30 km ,1 hr drive to Kalaw, a summer hill resort in the times of the British raj. After lunch : (1) we visit some Colonial-era buildings, the Shwe OO Min Cave, HneePhaya Monastery and the Kalaw railway station . Evening at leisure and Dinner.Accommodation: Hotel in Kalaw.Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner.

DAY 3 KALAW - SHABIN TREKKING





Today in the early morning you commence your 3 day- trekking trip. The trail goes through pleasant scenery and the climate is temperate.(1) On the way visit the villages of Palaung,Danu,PaO and TaungYoeTribes.Your trekking tour guide will introduce you with the villagers and will show you the traditional ways of life. Lunch in Kampani, a DaNu village.(2) The trail ascends and descend through rolling hills and you will have the opportunity to meet native people along the way and also see coffee and tea plantations and fields of mustard, ginger,malt,rice, cabbage,cauliflower, sesame, etc.(3) In the late afternoon, you will arrive at Shabin ;a typical Danu Village with a 19 th

century old wooden monastery. Dinner and overnight at Shabin Monastery.

DAY 4 SHABIN – TEETHEIN TREKKING

After breakfast at the monastery : (1) you continue your trekking trip. It is about 7 hours trekking to the next stop. This area is full of fruit plantations of avocado,banana,oranges,jackfruit and papaya. You will also see the crab apple trees and gigantic shady banyan trees along the way. Lunch at ‘Pawke’,a PaO village.





(2) After lunch,another 3 ½ hours trek to Teethain, a typical PaOvillage. You will see ginger plantations along the way. Dinner and overnight at Teethain Monastery.Accommodation: Teethain Monastery Meals: Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner.

DAY 5 TEETHEIN – THANDAUNG TREKKING – INLE LAKE

After breakfast,(1) you continue on a 5 hour trek to the shores of the Inle Lake.The trail goes through forests of Bamboo thickets and pass through cultivated fields of fruits,banana,papaya,potato and beans. Lunch at lower Thandaung Village. (2) A boat ride on Inle Lake to your hotel, a delight to all with a camera, its calm waters dotted with floating vegetation on floating Islands and small fishing boats, to which scenic high hills provide the perfect back-drop. See the “Intha” (Lake-dwelling people) also known as the unique “Leg-Rowers” who use one leg to stand on the boat while the other leg is wrapped around an oar and rows.(3) Visit Phaung Daw OoPagoda, the holiest religious site in Southern Shan State which has five small Buddha statues so heavily gilded with gold that the original buddha images are unrecognizable. (4) The evening is at leisure at your hotel.Accommodation: Hotel in Inle Lake Meals: Breakfast, Lunch,Dinner.

DAY 6 INLE LAKE – YANGON (by air)





Wake up to a beautiful sunrise on the lake, with a boatman awaiting to introduce you Intha life. Today you will : (1) Observe the Lake Inle cottage industry workshops such as silk & lotus fabric weaving with wooden handlooms at “Inn-Paw- Kone”Village, traditional ‘mild-cigar –making’ (cheroot)factory at “Se’ Kaung Village” and tradional silver and gold smiths, paper umbrella –making at ‘Ywa-ma’ Village. You will also see Padaung hill tribe ladies (Long-neck ladies) in that village.(2) The boat stops at Nyaung Shwe, and our driver will transport you to Heho airport for the departure Flight to Yangon. Once you arrive in this former capital city, stay at leisure and enjoy a Farewell Dinner.Accommodation: hotel in YangonMeals: Breakfast,Lunch,Farewell Dinner.

DAY 7 DEPARTURE YANGON

On your final day,have breakfast at hotel and : (1) As time permits enjoy some shopping at (Bogyoke Aung San Market(named after the father of Aung San Suu Kyi and formerly known as the Scott Market )to purchase souvenirs and handicrafts if you wish. There are gems, fabrics, lacquer ware, wood sculptures, paintings etc… the range of wares is fantastic and don’t forget to bargain!Be at leisure at hotel until transferred to airport for your departure flight.Accommodation: N/A Meals: Breakfast.
