OBJECTIVES

To find out suitable/feasible inter-cropping system under availability of irrigation facilities.

To study the effect of irrigation regimes on the performance of inter-cropping system.

A. Inter-cropping systems:

1. Sole crop French bean (S1).

2. Sole crop rapeseed (S2).

3. Rapeseed + French Bean in 4:1 ratio (S3).

4. French Bean + Rapeseed in 4 :1 ratio (S4).

1. Rapeseed= 40:35:15:: N: P2O5: K2O kg/ha

2. French bean= 30:40:20:: N: P2O5: K2O kg/ha

2) Periodic soil moisture status at an interval of 15 days.

3) Land equivalent ratio. 4) Dry matter production at harvest of

crops.5) Nutrient uptake (NPK) by the plants.6) Growth and yield attributes of crops.7) Water use efficiency of sole crops and

inter-cropping systems.
