Safety Information

READ THIS MANUAL CAREFULLY BEFORE

USING THIS MULTIMETER!

The digital multimeter has been designed according

to IEC1010-1 concerning safety requirements for

electrical measuring instruments with an overvoltage

category (1000V CAT ) and pollution 2.

Important Safety Instructions

Injury or death can occur even with low voltages

and low current. It is extremely important that you read

this safety information before using your multimeter.

Follow all safety practices and proper operating

procedures for equipment being tested.

Page 6: Ms8222 h english_manual

2

Disconnect the power and discharge

high-voltage capacitors before testing in Ohms,

Continuity, Diode, Capacitance, and other test

of on circuit

Inspect the test leads for damaged insulation

or exposed metal. Check test lead continuity.

Damaged leads should be replaced.

Do not use the instrument if it looks damaged.

Select the proper function and range for your

measurement.

User caution when working above 60V DC or

30V AC rms. Such voltages pose a shock

hazard.

Disconnect the live test lead before

disconnecting the common test lead.

When using the probes, keep your fingers

away from probe contacts. Keep your fingers

behind the finger guards on the probes.

When measuring current, turn the power off to

the circuit being tested before connecting the

meter test lead in the circuit.

Page 7: Ms8222 h english_manual

3

Place test leads in proper input terminals

Measurement time must fewer 10 seconds at

measuring great current every times, and the

interval time must more 15 minutes every

times.

Do not operate this multimeter in an explosive

atmosphere (i.e., in the presence of flammable

gases or fumes, vapor or dust.).

Never replace the protective fuse inside the

multimeter with a fuse other than the specified

or approved equal fuse. Replace only with

same type of fuses. To avoid electrical shock,

disconnect the test leads and any input

signals before replacing the fuses.

Replace only with same type of battery. To

avoid electrical shock, disconnect the test

leads and input signals before replacing the

battery.

Do not attempt calibration or service unless

trained and another person capable of

rendering first aid and resuscitation is present.

If the meter display “ ” on LCD, the battery must

be replaced to maintain proper operation. Following

procedure to replacing the battery:

. Press POWER key to OFF. Disconnect test leads

from any live source and remove the test leads from

the input terminals. ⑵. Remove the two special screws on the battery

cover and open the cover. ⑶. Remove the exhausted battery and replace with a

new 9V battery (IEC6F22 JIS006P NEDA1604

type). ⑷. Don’t use the meter before the batter cover is in

place and fastened fully.

Replacing the Fuses

Following procedure to replacing the fuse:

. Press POWER key to OFF. And disconnect test

leads from any live source and remove the test

leads from the input terminals. ⑵. Remove the two screws on the battery cover

and open the cover. ⑶. Remove the blown fuse and replace with fuse

of the same size and rating. Make sure the new

fuse is centered in the fuse holder. ⑷. The mA input terminal is protected by

F0.5A/250V fast blow ceramic fuse, Φ5×20.

The A input terminal is protected by F10A/250V

fast blow ceramic fuse, Φ6.3×32 ⑸. Don’t use the meter before the batter cover is

in place and fastened fully.
