This masthead for Vibe magazine consists of bold, block red text on a black foreground.  I believe that based on the masthead, this magazine will have an audience of late teens to young adults, around the age of 16 to 25. The reason for this is because the text is stylised and created to look informal due to the use of both capitals and lowercase letters mixed in one word making it more attractive to younger generations as it will attract their attention. The colour scheme being red and bold becomes attractive to the young generations as it makes the title prominent, bold and represents excitement, suggesting that the magazine could be quite entertaining to the audience as oppose to being formal. I believe that this magazine will contain music of Hip Hop and Rap genres because of the use of the strong, block red text. This is because the font is quite harsh and powerfully presented, as are the genres featured because the music styles contain strong beats and powerful statements which give a similar impression to the title.

This magazine masthead for Billboard Magazine consists of bold, streamline font with the circular centres of letters B, O A and D filled with block colours.  I believe that this masthead will have an audience of teenagers aged around 16 to young adults aged 21. This is because the font has incorporated bold colours in order to attract the attention of a young target audience. I also believe that the target audience will be predominantly female because the masthead is quite feminine; however there will also be a small male audience as the colours used are gender neutral.

The masthead for BBC Music Magazine consists of the BBC logo inform of a purple and pink gradient background, and a sophisticated serif font in black.

I believe that this masthead will have an audience of those between 30 and 50 years old. This is because of the elegance in the typography which will not generally appeal to younger generations. This also applies because of the lack of colour, making it quite boring to the eye.

Because of the use of flicked serif text, I believe that this magazine will contain the genre classical music as the font is quite old fashioned and therefore links to the genre well.
