My Masthead

In every magazine the masthead is usually located in the main cover . It is a alternate name for the nameplate of a magazine.

I Designed the mast head in a way that it stands out with dark bold lettering, so it can over shine other magazines that is standing on the shelves.

The masthead is the largest font in the whole page, this adds to it being superior.

My masthead consists of two main colours, red and black. Black dominates the letters as the red fades in around the outline to give it a bit detail.

I have been analysing different magazines mastheads and have seen a sections of it covered by the main image. I have imitated the same thing, but since my magazine is new to everyone they might not be able to identify what is written.

The reason I chose red and black for my masthead is because it brings out emotion and reflects to grime.

Here the producers of these magazines have covered a lettering from the masthead, this maybe because of the popularity of the magazine, that the audience just should realise.

The mastheads have the biggest fonts, and are backed up with vivid colours to enhance their appearance.

Both of these magazines also use red and black like I have, to give that urban hip-hop look.
