Intel's 'Clover Trail' Atom CPUs to Support Android and Linux.

Intel has clarified by stating its support for Linux and Android for its forthcoming 'Clover Trail' Atom CPUs. This new series of Atom CPUs will exclusively support Windows 8 at their launch. Support for Linux and Android operating systems will come later, in the form of a separate hardware release.

The Nano SIM is here but where is the iPhone 5

Maxis has just announced that they are currently the first telco in Malaysia to offer the new Nano SIM card which will fit nicely in the newly announced iPhone 5.

Designed to be 30% smaller and 15% thinner than the existing Micro SIM specification, this smaller SIM card will free up space in a phone for other more critical components including additional memory or larger batteries.

Motorola Announces Intel-powered RAZR i phone.

Motorola and Intel today unveiled the first smart phone to run on a 2.0GHz processor, the RAZR i.

The Motorola RAZR i will be available in black beginning in October in select European and Latin American markets including the U.K, France, Germany, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico with more to be announced. A white version will also be coming to select markets. Pricing will vary by country.

In an earlier statement made at this year's IDF, Intel said that its new Atom CPUs will not officially support the Linux operating system, presumably Android as well. With that stated stance, it has made the new Clover Trail series of Atom processors tailored exclusively for powering tablets operating on Windows 8 and Windows RT. The Clover Trail Atom CPU is essentially a 32nm duo-core Medfield processor and it supports more powerful graphics processing than the Medfield.

The competition between Samsung and Apple just got hotter. Numerous reports have pointed to a possible MWC February 2013 launch and a global release in March for its next flagship phone, the Galaxy S IV/4 based on the claims of executives at Samsung. f the above rumor is to be true, this will place the Android GALAXY S4 in the same "phablet" category as its recently announced cousin, the 5.5-inch GALAXY Note II.

AMD's Hondo APU Will Only Support Windows 8

AMD's new Hondo APU will only support Windows 8 at launch, according to The Inquirer who spoke to Mr. Steve Belt, corporate VP of ultra-low power products. AMD is forgoing support for the Android OS for the time being; however, it is possible to install Linux on devices powered by this new APU.
