INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT IN CHHATTISGARH
Since its inception Chhattisgarh has emerged as the state with the highest economic growth. The state which was carved out of Madhya Pradesh in November 2000.
The state to the category of “developed states" as it is the duty of the State Government to work towards rapid economic growth with regional balance for the industrial development
in Chhattisgarh.
To bring about prosperity to the people of Chhattisgarh, it is necessary to utilise the rich resources of the state in a useful manner so that to increase the present rate of industrial
growth increases substantially.
Creation of a favourable investment environment for increasing industrial production and creating employment opportunities is one of the major priority areas of the State
Government.
Chhattisgarh has planned a new industrial area focused to provide space for small and medium industries so that it would come up in Tilda which is about 50 kms from the state
capital of Chhattisgarh.
The main objective behind the centre is to focus on promoting the micro small and medium enterprises (MSME) in the state. This project can monitor almost 100 units.
10 industrial areas, six are located in Raipur while three have been established in Bilaspur district. In Durg district, one industrial area has been set up.
Industrial development in Chhattisgarh is largely natural resources driven. It has abundant natural wealth in the form of limestone, coal, oilseeds, pulses, bauxite, iron ore, diamond,
copper ore, manganese ore, rock sulphate, silica, soya, cotton and so on.
