The Reserve Bank of India have encouraged approvals of licenses for

Prepaid Mobile Wallets as it is estimated that Cash & Cheque

transactions will drop from 45% to 32% by 2020.

The gap of 13% will be filled by Prepaid Wallet transactions.

Over INR 8743 Billion in payments is likely to be made through PPIs in FY2020. This will be more than 12 times the volumes in FY2013

PPIs could see dramatically accelerated growth in India from the prepaid card and prepaid mobile wallet segments. Prepaid is expected to account for a large share of

the non-cash segment.
