Overview

The Bell iNform platform enables the delivery of rich and powerful interactive experiences in conjunction with a linear HD broadcast channel over IPTV.

Features

Formats

Broadcast – In this mode, the broadcast is the star of the show and the app serves to complement the broadcast by displaying information along the bottom and left-side of the screen

Squeezeback – In this mode, the app squeezes the broadcast video into the corner, and the viewer can engage more deeply with the application content, such as stories and videos

CTV Olympics

CTV Olympics – Custom EPG

• Enables viewers to see what channel Olympic events were on and tune directly to them without leaving the application, making finding and flipping between events incredibly convenient

• Channel numbers and event descriptions were pulled directly from the guide data

CTV Olympics - Scoreboard

• Scores for ongoing events update in real-time, with upcoming events also displayed in the carousel• iNform engine makes it possible to display different scoring formats (points, sets, lap times, etc) all in

one place

CTV Olympics – Headlines

• Stories and videos are pulled in directly from the same feed that supplied the CTV.ca online experience• “Squeeze-back” view makes the app content a priority and shrinks broadcast video down to about 1/5th

the size

• Users can read full news stories directly on-screen, using the remote control to navigate up/down

CTV Olympics – Video Library

• Users can browse and view over-the-top video clips and highlights from the video library

CTV Olympics – OTT Video

• Videos display in a lightbox which supports a variety of video formats and bit rates• Users can browse to other videos directly within the player using the navigation keys

• Usage over 14 day Olympic period was 3x higher than the monthly usage for the next most popular FibeTV app

TSN Xtra

TSN – Headlines

• Users can browse through the latest sports headlines via a visual carousel, and click to go directly to a story

• Headlines, stories, videos, etc supplied from the existing TSN.ca feed

TSN – Live Scoreboard

• Real-time scoreboard is customizable to show only the sports the viewer is interested in• Users can click on scores to view even more detailed box scores

TSN – Stories

• Each major sports category provides the ability to view stories, standings, and more detailed statistics• Polls are interactive and users can see the results immediately – votes are aggregated not only from the

application but from everywhere the poll appears (online, mobile, etc)

TSN – OTT Video

• Videos are contextually related to stories or categories and can be selected from the side bar

TSN – Advertising

• Examples of ad inventory for the TSN Xtra app – clicking activates a mini ad application • Based on the design of iNform, ads can take on virtually any size or format

• Examples of P&G’s Gillette advertising application which features multiple full-screen product pages and a call-to-action

• Users can press the back button on the remote to return to TSN Xtra at any time
