ReportFreebets.com report on money back offers rated bet365 Bookmaker of the Month in July after an absence of
four months from the number one position it had occupied over the winter.
Proclaiming itself the world’s biggest online gambling company, bet365 lived up to its own billing, in regard
to money back offers at least, by ranking first in the bookmaker list and having the top rated money back
offer with its Sky Dogs 2/1 offer. William Hill matched its best ever ranking by finishing second in the top 10
table followed by Betfair Sportsbook which had been top rated for the previous four months.
It was another month without major football and bookies looked to other sports to retain customer interest
with money back offers available on minority betting sports like cycling, volleyball and UFC.
The fact that Sky Dogs 2/1 offer was the top rated money back offer is an indication of a relatively low key
month of customer incentives but the report shows the number of money back offers provided by the 19
monitored betting sites has increased year on year. Freebets.com featured 95 different (or unique) money
back offers in July 2015 compared with 77 twelve months ago and its calculation for number of days and
offers available (Total Offers) was up significantly year on year with 1086 compared to 567 in July 2014.

has been conducting its analysis.
• bet365’s Sky Dogs 2/1 is rated Money Back Offer of the Month.
• Sky Bet provided the best chance of a free bet refund with its Channel 4 First Race Special on 27th July.
• BoyleSports provided most Unique Offers (15) ahead of Betway with 13 and Betfair (10).
• Bookmakers provided a combined total of 95 Unique Offers in July, 5 fewer than June and 18 more than
July 2014.
• Betfair (138) provided the highest Total Bookmaker Offers ahead of Betway (134) with BoyleSports
(116) in third.
• The monthly Total Bookmaker Offers was 1086, 64 more than June and 519 more than the same month
last year.
• Five of the top 10 Money Back Offers were on horse racing while it was the first month that a football
offer failed to appear in the top 10.
• Racing (31) accounted for most Unique offers, ahead of Football (17) and Cricket (9).

The category had been dominated by bet365 from July 14 until February 15 when the Stoke-base bookmaker was top rated six
times in eight months. After a four month wait as Betfair took the honours, bet365 was rated Bookmaker of the Month for the
eleventh time overall, equaling the record set by Paddy Power in October last year.
bet365 has a consistent and highly competitive range of offers which has never deviated in the time Freebets.com has been
recording details of money back offers featured on its website. The formula has been good enough to ensure it has ranked in the
top 3 money back bookmakers since May 2013.

William Hill ranked second and despite the dearth of league and international football, the strength and wide reaching availability

Conversely, Betfair dropped to third in the Top 10 rankings after four months at number one and its fall can be directly attributed to
the reduction in football. Its Football Cashback Extra offer is targeted at live top level domestic and international football matches
and there was no opportunity to promote its highest value regular offer which gives customers the choice of four or five money
back options on a single match.

• Sky Dogs 2/1 has been an integral part of bet365’s success as a leading money back bookmaker.
It earns customers a free bet for backing the winner of any greyhound race shown live on Sky at
odds of 2/1 or more. Customers receive a free bet equal to their stake up to £100. It’s the size of
the potential free bet that proves so decisive for bet365 as it has competition from Coral and
Betfair who operate the same promotion but the free bet limit is much lower at £25.
• BoyleSports have mostly been on the margins concerning Money Back Offer of the Month while
always one of the top 5 online bookmakers when it comes to the number of offers promoted each
month.
• 2015 has seen the Irish firm make the top 10 in this list on a number of occasions and it fared
exceedingly well in July with four different money back offers rated in the top 10. It was runner up

General Findings• Freebets.com featured 95 different money back offers from the 19 leading online
bookmakers monitored of the report. This is the number of ‘Unique’ offers referred to in
the report and does not include other promotions advertised on the website such as
Free Bet Sign Up offers, Enhanced Odds, Best Odds Guarantees, Bonuses and other
free bet offers such as bet £20 get £10 free bets.
• The number of Unique money back offers followed the falling trend since the end of the
European domestic football seasons in May. While this demonstrates the importance of
football betting in bookmakers’ customer retention strategy, it does not hide the efforts
made by online sportsbooks to continue providing their players with opportunities to
pick up free bets.
• July figures were almost static, falling by just four on the previous month, but the chart
below does not show that this represents a year-on-year increase of 18 (ie 19%).

• BoyleSports was most active with 15 different money
back offers advertised during July. They varied from daily
offers like ‘Cashback if 2nd to the Favourite’, the weekly
PGA and European PGA golf offer ‘Money Back if your

as the aforementioned refunds on the Ashes cricket.
• Betway provided 13 different offers in July and Betfair
were the only other bookmaker in double digits

• Horse racing and football are the two largest drivers of online betting
and this is reflected on the following chart showing offers by sport.
Despite the reduction in domestic football such is the global appeal,
horse racing was only the only sport to inspire more money back offers
in July.
• Horse racing accounted for 31 of 95 unique offers last month, football 17
followed by cricket (9), tennis (8), golf (6) and the others with 5 or less.

• One significant factor in determining the Bookmaker of the Month is
the availability of each of the Unique offers. The algorithm takes
into account the number of events and markets that qualify for
each offer. It also counts the number days when there is a new
event which qualifies players for another chance to get money back

Acca Insurance and a very good daily Horse Racing Special
