Availability & Performance Challenges• SLT: Replication monitoring involves partners, schema, objects
– Connectivity
– Table Replication Status
– Data Latency
• RFC Connectivity
– Cornerstone of many connectivity in SAP ecosystem Critical
– Availability of Targets
– Latency of connection
– Impact on Sending or Receiving system
• Central Monitoring
– Outages
– Delays
– Service Levels of connected systems and services

What’s Available for SLT Monitoring from SAP?
• LTR (Configuration & Monitoring Dashboard)– Netweaver Business Client Web UI
– Checks Status of Jobs (Batch processes available and utilized) and Connections (RFC & DB connections)
– Status of Triggers: tables configured to replicate have DB triggers created on source system to record changes in SLT logging tables
– Statistics: Replication details (Insert, Update, Delete), and Latency (in seconds over the last 24 hours)
– By default the system summarizes statistical data based hours, days and retention. You have to be logged on to the dashboard and manually click refresh to see status changes, and if you're not refreshing often, your session will get timed out, so it's really inconvenient!
– Not a centralized enterprise monitoring solution

• LTRC & LTRO (LT Replication Server Cockpit / Monitoring)– LTRO Transaction in SAPGUI, you can globally monitor SLT server:
• The number of current running and free batch and dialog processes running on all application servers of the SAP LT Replication Server system
• The availability status for all connected target systems, and the corresponding log entries (warnings and errors)
• The status of multiple configurations (mass transfer IDs) within a single screen
– LTRC is similar to LTRO but can view only ONE configuration at a time
• MWBMON (Migration Workbench Monitor for Mass Data Transfer) – MWBMON Transaction on the SAPGUI Client you can monitor:
• Similar to LTRC, but with Mass Data Transfer and in-depth performance analysis for tables, indexes, space, and even host resource utilization
• Activities Log
• Expert Functions: Migration Workbench activities such as Reset of Processing Steps, Table mapping, and Performance Analysis

What’s Available for SLT Monitoring from SAP?
• Solution Manager– Setup and Monitoring:
• SCN Blog: http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-65065
– Solution Manager and managed system must be installed and patched first
• Note: – Per SAP: “The system monitoring capabilities of SAP Solution Manager do
not allow the viewing of details for each table and related trigger – it contains only aggregated information for a schema”, such as job, trigger and table status
– Most data is aggregated and provides only a big picture. You would still need to log on to the managed SLT system to look for more details.
