Our Drupal BlogsBesides an overview of November's blogs from us and from other authors, we began our December's work with Drupal Camps in Middle AmericaThere have been some complaints about the choice of the term Middle America, but we stand by our decision, which we also explained in the blog postHowever, two big Drupal Camps were found in that area, making a good promotion for Drupal

We continued with Drupal Commerce 2.x for Drupal 8, which was written by our CEO Iztok Smolic, who had a session on Drupal Camp Munich under the same name So, all of you who have missed the session, here's a chance to learn something new about Commerce 2.xPrior to that, Acquia announced its partnership with MagentoThere are assurances that Drupal commerce is not neglected, but we'll see about that in the future

And there was only one continent left to analyse Drupal CampsIt was Oceania, which was a pleasant surpriseIt offered stability, because from 2008 there was at least one Drupal Camp organized every year and from 2014 there were at least three Drupal Camps organized every yearIt's true that this year all of them were in Australia, but New Zealand also helped in the past

Then it was time to give voice to other important people in Drupal Community as wellTherefore, we have made an interview with Janez Urevc, a Slovenian mastermind when it comes to Drupal and its connection with mediaWe talked about Drupal events, Drupal community and media management, which is considered as the main weakness in Drupal’s core

Christmas was nearly upon as at that time, so it was time to connect Drupal with ChristmasWe presented some of our ideas how the two of them can be connected, from modules, templates, Drupal Christmas song to all sorts of ornaments in the shape of Drupal Icon and so onWe knew that you had your ideas as well, so we encouraged you to realize them

With our world tour of Drupal Camps concluded there was only one thing left for us to doTo present you an overview with all of our findings and the final ranking table, which measured the quantity of Drupal Camps organized on the continentThere were some surprises, but in general, more or less was as expected

And our last blog topic in December (meaning last year as well) was what challenges Drupal will have to face in 2017

Year 2016 was pretty successful, with a lot of new projects, modules, solutions ... launched, but there is, of course, room for improvementEspecially in community, where professional Drupal developers are not as active as they should be, in Drupal's core, where Media Manager is absent, in organizing Drupal events, especially in South America and so on

The wonders of Twig theming

Our second choice is Ixis with The wonders of Twig theming. This blog post uncovers Twig theme layer, which was used for rebuilding the Ixis site in Drupal 8. Diversity Matters

Drupal Camp Munich raised a lot of questions about diversity in Drupal, because copies of a men's lifestyle and entertainment magazine were about to be handed out to participants as part of the welcome bags. Josef Dabernig was present on the event and he, from first hand, wrote about diversity at Drupal community events, stating that diversity does matter.You can read the full blog post here.

Drupal 8 Configuration Management in the real world - workflow and gotchas

Configuration Management has made it possible to store all Drupal configuration in code, making it a huge win for Drupalistas. But there are several gotchas that companies and individuals have to be careful of. John Locke pointed them out in his blog post.You can read the full blog post here.

We know now that being involved in a Drupal community can only be beneficial for you.
