The magazine had a bold title that clearly showed the school it represented, meaning that the readers know where it is talking about and the students know that it has stuff to do for him. There is a main image clearly shown which has a student of the school in the school uniform. This makes it clear to the students/readers that the magazine is about the school.There is a date on the magazine which shows around what time the events and articles were written. There is also a price which shows the reader the price of the magazine which may convince the reader to buy the magazine. There is a reference on the magazine with the school website. This means that if the reader needs any further information then they are able to go to the website and find out anymore that they need to know.

The magazine hasn’t got a strap line which is catchy or catches the readers attention. The magazine needs a strap line to attract the attention of the reader. This may make the magazine look boring and less interesting.The magazine doesn’t have any logo’s of the school. By having logo’s it could make the magazine stand out even more and show more clearly who the magazine represents.

Masthead is welcome. This shows that the magazine is about welcoming people into the school for the new year.

Price tag of the magazine showing how much the magazine costs. This shows the user how much they have to pay for the magazine.

Title showing a competition. This can be seen as a promotion to get the people to buy the magazine.

The secondary stories are all on the side of the magazine showing what stories there are to be read for the reader. This may interest the reader even more and make them want to purchase the magazine.

The smaller image underneath the sub story attracts attention to the story. This means that it makes it more likely that people will become interested in more than one story making them want to buy the magazine.

Main image of the cover. This shows a student of the new school which is showing what school it represents. This means that it is clear to the students of the school that this magazine represents them.

This means that the reader will not know what the main headline is meaning that they may not be interested.The magazine hasn’t actually got a name, it is just a title saying ‘welcome’. There is no school name or logo to represent the school.The titles are very boring and all the same. They do not stand out to the reader and they will most likely not be interested in buying the magazine.There is no teaser story to get the reader wondering about the magazine and make them want to read into it.

The magazine cover looks very formal and aimed a certain audience. There is a big bold title to stand out to the reader of the name of the magazine. The main story stands out as it is bigger than all the other secondary stories. There is also a casual picture of a man who looks like he is an A-Level student which represents the purpose of the magazine.

Through making the school magazine, I have learnt new ways of using tools on Photoshop. This has allowed me to edit photos, text, and add effects to the images. This has allowed me to make the magazine stand out, and even crop someone else’s face onto another persons head.
