Different options of Real Estate Investments
Real estate is the oldest form of business or investment that we have. This is although a known fact but very few people know that there are different kinds of real estate investment. They roughly include options like residential real estate, commercial, industrial, REITs and many more.
Residential Real estate:Residential properties are a good source of recurring income and the investment reaps immediate returns if the property is ready-to-move-in. These properties can be anything like apartments, houses, villas, town houses or houses with garages and provisions for shops.
Commercial Real Estate: Commercial real estate consists of office premises, building and shop floors. With an investment of a small amount of money one can easily invest in constructing a building at a suitable location and renting it to offices and shops. This will be a great alternative as the rents or the lease amount will be higher than that of the residential apartments.
Industrial real estate:Industrial real estate always does not mean huge industrial areas. It can be small service stations for automobiles or any special purpose real estate area or premises that is rented or leased to some industrial unit. This is also an area that the investors can look into.
Investment in retail real estate:By retail real estate one means shopping malls, retail storefronts and strip malls. In these investments the property owners also get a share of the profits also apart from the rent. This is paid in addition to the base rent or lease amount paid to the property owner.
A Mixed portfolio of investment:A mixed portfolio is something that the investors prefer. According to the capital invested and the prospects and the market of the place the investors invest in different kinds of real estate. The investor in the mixed portfolio is the one who invests in all or some these above mentioned investment areas in different proportions. This minimizes the risk as well as maximizes the returns on investment.
