HISTORY OF THE PORTALPORT has been established during the years of117 and 119 BC by carving the rocks on place. Aport and a quay had been started to beconstructed on the old quay area by Hasan Pashaand this port has been completed in 1903. Overtime the port was modernized. the constructionworks, which has started in 1980, was completedin 1990 and the port was brought into its currentstate.

TYPE

The operational rights of the Alport for theduration of 30 years has been taken over on21.11.2003 by Trabzon Port Operations INC,which is affiliated company of ALBAYRAKGroup, as the tender that was opened by theRepublic of Turkey Prime MinistryPrivatisation Administration, was awardedto the company.

The Port of Trabzon has been taken over (asthe operational rights) for 30 year durationfrom the Republic of Turkey PrivatisationAdministration on 22nd November 2003.

Alport is located between North 4057’30’’ latitude and East 40 02’ 30’’longitude and North 41 06’ 36’’ andEast39 25’ 00’’ longitude. In otherwords, it is situated within the line thatis drawn towards the Northdirection between the Narlik forelandon East and the Isikli foreland on Westand the coastline that is bordered withthe Turkish Territorial Waters.

In Alport, port tariff rates changeaccording to customers. So, thereis not any fixed price. Operationcosts are determined by thetypes of cargo and the propertiesof cargo.
