INTERVIEW

Interview- a conversation between two or more people (interviewer and interviewee) where questions are asked by the interviewer to get information from the interviewee.

INTERVIEW FOR ASSESTMENT-appraising one’s applicant if he is competent enough by evaluating and throwing questions.

The most common type of it is a job interview between an employer and an applicant.

INTERVIEWS FOR INFORMATION-seeking and gathering information about a subject. This type of interviews are central to the practices of journalism and instructional design.

Orient the interviewee.

Establish rapports.

State the purpose of the interview.Summarize the reason for the interview.Explain how the topic of the interview was discovered and by whom it was discovered.

How to open an Interview?

Refer to how you came upon choosing the interviewee.Refer to your organization and position to give oneself an identity to the interviewee.Request a specific amount of time.Always knock before entering the room for the interview.Dress properly for the situation.

Open questions require more information from the interviewee.

Closed questions require short answers like yes or no.

HOW TO GO TO AN INTERVIEW?Arrive at the area 30 minutes early.Keep yourself cool.Be confident. Sit straight.Look at the interviewer.Answer only the questions that the interviewer ask.

HOW TO GO TO AN INTERVIEW?Be polite and don’t insult the employer.

Be very forward in everything you say and in your actions.

Try not to confuse the employer.Do not take offense to anything the interviewer says.

Thank the interviewer and remain courteous up to the end of the interview.

Go alone and without other obligations. 

Arrive at least 30 minutes early. Calm your nerves before you begin.

Research the company.Come up with answers to common resume questions.Prepare to describe yourself in a way that is relevant to the job.Practice answering these questions in different ways.Pack everything you need.Dress nicely.
