Ludhiana

While there have been many

cases where girls from Ludhiana are shining in national and inter-national arenas there is a special section of women in the city who are coming out and proving themselves even though they are not professionals.

Members of Girls Pedaller Club took part in Decathlon’s Sunday race event in which the ladies competed in a 23 km race on National Highway 1 from De-cathlon to Phillaur. In

women category Girls Pedaller Club won first 3 positions. Speaking about how it felt to be a part of this uprising of the Ludhiana woman to come out of her home and win accolades for herself Sanjana Goyal, Samira Aulakh and Sakshi Dadu who won the first, second and third position respec-tively say that the exhilaration of winning has made them more confident. The president of the winning club Jyoti Goyal said that this achievement is a great way to encourage other women to take up cycling that is not only a good way to exercise, but also works well on the social scene.

Cycling for me is a great way to stay fit and have fun in the early morning fresh air. Not only does it keep us physically strong but meeting new people everyday. I am so enthusiastic about this sport and it is refreshing and inspirational.
