National Foundation for Transplants Helps 2,500 Patients Each Year
The National Foundation for Transplants helps transplant candidates all over the country with the cost of transplant care after insurance and government programs cease to be of service. Through fundraising campaigns and regular donors, NFT is able to help more than 2,500 patients every year. To this day, they have generated more than $60 million for transplant patients. For example, NFT is currently working with a patient in Brooklyn, New York, who would otherwise not be able to afford the $800,000 bill that accompanies a double lung transplant. This fee only covers the first four months of post-op care, while the years of follow-up treatment easily exceed $1 million.
