Best Exercises forSeniors
Walking
Walking is one of the easiest exercises
you can do, and it’s a great excuse to get
outside and get some fresh air.
Numerous studies have found that
spending time outside has many
benefits on a person’s mood.
Regular walking may also help you
maintain your weight, reduce your risk of
heart disease, and lower your blood
pressure.
It’s important to maintain the correct
posture when you walk. Do not look at
the ground. Keep your shoulders
relaxed.
Also, make sure you wear comfortable
shoes that offer you the right support.
Biking
Biking is another great form of cardio.
Before you hop on your bike, remember
to stay safe.
Always wear a helmet when you ride
bike. You should also avoid riding in the
street. Instead, pick an area with bike
trails where you will not have to worry
about traffic.
Some people choose to buy a stationary
bike that they can use in their living
room. This gives you the option of
working out even on a rainy day.
Biking is a lot less stressful on the body
than running or jogging. Yet it offers the
same benefits.
Swimming
If you don’t mind going to the gym on a
regular basis, you should swim.
Just like biking, swimming won’t hurt
your joints.
Swimming also targets the majority of
your muscles which is great.
The easiest way to start a swimming
routine is to hop in the water and swim
some laps.
However, many gyms also offer group
aerobic classes where you can meet
some new friends and get in the shape
at the same time.
