Introduction:• A food cart/ kiosk is a mobile kitchen that is set up on the street to facilitate the

sale and marketing of street food to people from the local pedestrian traffic.

TYPES:

Food carts come in two basic styles. One allows the vendor to sit or stand inside and serve food through a window. Another uses all of the room inside the cart for storage and to house the cooking machinery, usually some type of grilling surface.

•Food booth is generally a temporary structure used to prepare and sell food to the general public, mostly found in park, stadium, parade

•food kiosk/ cart are often found in large cities throughout the world and can be found selling food of just about any variety.

•food truck, is a truck that sells food. Some, including prepackaged food; others resemble restaurants on wheels. Some may provide specific meals or styles of food.

THEN AND NOW:

Some food carts are towed by another vehicle, while some alternatively are pushed by a human or animal.

The structure of food carts have recently seen new changes like modular designed carts made with stainless steel, fiber reinforced plastic and aluminum. Some have been developed with the ability to be driven by itself.

PROS CONS

Relatively Cheap: The food carts main strength is its price. The major benefits of this type of business include affordability, as less equipment is necessary, and mobility.

Shelter: Operating a cart means that you have a very little shelter to protect u from the element

Maintenance: After the initial set-up of a kiosk, the maintenance required is generally quite minimal.

Menu Capability: Not all food could be prepared or sold from a cart as you are limited on how much you can serve and store.

Increased Advertisement: Because they have a high level of visibility, the products and services that they are selling can become very well known.

The smaller size of the truck means that there is typically less room to house the variety available at a venue with a permanent location.
