1. Its name is taken from Chapter 14 of Moby Dick.2. Matthew (drums) was on his way to becoming a pro soccer player before joining the band. 3. The Lighthouse and the Whaler is from Cleveland and thinks LeBron James is a traitor. 4. Its favorite show to date took place in the attic of an old bookstore.5. Mark (mandolin) is perpetually training for marathons.6. The band won Peter Gabriel’s cover song contest for the 20th anniversary of So.7. The album This is an Adventure is the hold music for Google’s phone support line.8. The Lighthouse and the Whaler dines on Taco Bell, thanks to the Feed the Beat program.9. Michael (vocals, guitar) studied theology and literature in college.10. The band recorded This is an Adventure in a barn at Bear Creek Studios.11.
