21. UNIBONDTM CONSTRUCTION: THE HEART OF UNSINKABILITY The exclusive Unibond construction process ensures that the boat is COMPLETELY filled with polyurethane liquidclosed-cell foam for unsinkable buoyancy.

While the laminates are still curing, the top and bottom molds are fitted together and locked. A proprietarypolyurethane liquid closed-cell foam is introduced into an access port. A computer-controlled machine dispenses theprecise amount of liquid foam. The foam rapidly expands, generating heat and pressure and permanently bonding the two parts.

The benefit to the customer is an unsinkable boat that exceeds U.S. Coast Guard flotation requirements by as much as 250 percent!

This method also gives the hull unparalleled strength and rigidity, energy-absorbing capability and a uniquely quietride with no hollow sound.

2. SWAMPED CAPACITYSwamped capacity is the weight a boat can hold when completely filled with water.

Unibond construction results in a boat that can hold thousands of pounds of weight before water overflows the gunnels on a 170 Montauk, 3,400 pounds (17 people or a VW Beetle).

3. POLYURETHANE CLOSED-CELL FOAM Surpasses environmental regulation and is one of the most environmentally friendly foams available.

Provides closed-cell properties.

Is considerably stronger structurally.

Will not absorb water.

Is formulated to our specifications.

4. COLD PRESS MOLDING Pre-cut fiberglass material is wetted out with resin and the mold is closed and clamped under pressure, ensuring complete resin saturation and an even glass-to-resin ratio.

Used in molding locker covers, seat bases and hatches.

Provides finished surfaces on both sides for superior finish and ease of cleaning.

5. WHALEBOARD PHENOLIC BACKINGA resin-based composite material used in place of mahogany, aluminum and plywood for backing hardware installation.

Will not rot when exposed to water.

Has higher screw retention strength (five times the strength of plywood).

Screws can be removed more frequently with less stripping.

6. HAND-LAID FIBERGLASS Pre-cut fiberglass kits are installed, ensuring a more consistent laminate.

Woven and stitched fiberglass has higher strength and shear properties.

Chopped strand is used where, based on geometry and loading conditions, it will lay up properly and provide strength.

7. CAST 316-L STAINLESS STEEL HARDWAREAll hinges and like hardware are of the dropped-forged type.

The forging process creates uniform metallic structure throughout the piece.

Whalers dropped-forged hardware is superior to stamped hardware, which uses a flat sheet to stamp out the pieceand a secondary operation to bend. This bending causes small cracks, leading to failure or bleeding.

8. CHROME-PLATED STAINLESS STEEL FASTENERS Reduces tendency to corrode.

9. SOLID CORE 316-L STAINLESS STEEL CLEATSEach cleat is installed by drilling and tapping machine screws into Whaleboard phenolic backing that is molded into thehull and deck.

Much higher breaking strength than hollow cleats.

Because they are stainless steel instead of aluminum, there will be no galvanic corrosion to the fasteners.

10. ONE-PIECE, WELDED 316-L STAINLESS STEEL BOW RAILS WITH SOLID BASES Welded rails promote longevity by reducing maintenance through elimination of connectors. Stainless steel rails alsofeature a more polished appearance.

11. PREMIUM GELCOAT Superior gloss retention.

Superior color retention.

12. STAINLESS STEEL SUN TOP HARDWAREAll sun-top fittings are forged stainless steel.

All sun-top bows are 316-L grade stainless steel on all boats.

Stainless steel offers greater stiffness and durability than other materials.

13. TINNED COPPER WIRINGAll electrical wiring in a Boston Whaler consists of copper strands coated with tin (tinned copper).

Improves resistance to corrosion over bare copper wiring.

14. HEAT-SHRINK, EPOXY-GLUE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS AND MOLDED PLUGSWITH SEALS

All wiring connectors and battery cables are made using only heat-shrink, epoxy-glued connectors or high-tech moldedplugs with seals, versus clamped-on connectors.

Eliminates the possibility of moisture entering the core of the wire.

As additional corrosion prevention, T-9 is sprayed where wires are terminated mechanically, encasing the connector in a corrosion-proof insulating film.

15. HEAVY-DUTY BILGE HOSEPVC-reinforced plastic hose versus leak-prone, low-grade flexible hose.

16. SUNBRELLA ACRYLIC CANVAS MATERIALAcrylic canvas versus plastic or vinyl to prevent cracks. Resists tendency to fade, mildew or rot.

17. ACCUTRACKHULL SYSTEMThis proprietary system is featured on all Vantage, Dauntless, Outrage and Conquest models.

The deep-V hull cleanly slices through chop for a smooth ride.

Reverse chines meet at the bow (known as the Whaler Smirk) to deflect spray for a drier ride.

Each Whaler hull has two port and starboard running strakes that function like longitudinal fixed rudders, allowing the Whaler to hold a straight course or move precisely in the direction it is steered.

Strakes also enhance lift, providing quicker planing and better fuel economy.

Uniquely styled bows feature large forward areas that provide buoyancy to lift the bow over oncoming head seas.

18. LADDER SYSTEMSSwim ladders are standard on all Super Sports, Montauks, and the 190 Outrage.

Boston Whaler ladders have enough rungs reaching deep into the water to make climbing onboard easy for anyone.

Ladders minimally extend 15 inches under the water surface.

Swimmers can deploy the ladder from the water.

Ladder variations are specific to size of the model and include simple swim ladders, integrated swim platforms withstainless steel ladders and grab rails, and covered or recessed telescoping stainless steel swim ladders with grab rails.

19. TINTED TEMPERED-GLASS WINDSHIELDAll Conquests and Outrages (except 190 and 220 Outrages) feature tinted tempered-glass windshields.

The glass is much like a car windshield, allowing easy viewing, and is much less prone to scratches than acrylic.

Glass windshields are easy to clean.

The aluminum frame provides for easy installation of the optional weather curtains.

20. STAINLESS STEEL TOE RAILSStandard on all Outrages and Conquests, except the 190 Outrage.

Stainless steel toe rails in cockpit area help you feel more secure during a fishfight.

20. EPA DIURNAL FUEL SYSTEM Newly designed fuel cap that features an audible click to confirm when it is properly closed.

New plastic fuel tanks which feature low-permeation liners and reduce fuel odor.

Options allow owners to be their own design team, choosing from among a slew of cutting-edgefishing options, watersports accessories, hull gelcoats and more, to create a sleek and low-maintenance boat perfect fortheir on-water lifestyle.

The 110 Tender and 110 Sport models offer more usable space than a comparably sized inflatable for hauling people,supplies and gear.

110s are much better choices than inflatables because they arent subject to deterioration and wont deflate. A 5'6"beam provides excellent stability for a boat this size, too.

130, 150 and 170 Super Sports allow the owner to choose from a variety of deluxe seating options thanks to their modular design.

130, 150 and 170 Super Sports come standard with a fiberglass bench seat (the 150 and 170 also feature a standard sideseat cooler with an available cushion).

130, 150 and 170 Super Sport options include bucket sport seats, bench seat with backrest and a bench seat cushion.

montauk overviewWith its classic style, practical design and rugged utility, the Montauk reflects the proud legacy of Boston Whaler. Simple and effective systems, effortless cleanup, a shallow draft and center console layout are the hallmarks of theMontauk platform.

The center console design features a clear windscreen and stainless steel rail.

The Montauks hatch for the forward storage/anchor locker features a molded non-skid surface to promote more secure footing.

The innovative reversible pilot seat at the helm features an adjustable seat back with four locking positions that canfunction as a bench, leaning post or aft-facing lounge for observing watersports activities.

The console provides a premium helmsmans feel with its well-placed wheel and control positions. Owners enjoy incredible visibility from the helm. Instrumentation is also clearly visible, and there is room on the console top for acompass and electronics.

The 190 Montauk steps up the amenities with a 60-gallon built-in fuel tank, and the 210 Montauk includes a 66.5-gallon fuel tank.
