Case Study: Leading news broadcaster

MediaBaron gave them the ease of accessing video footages by providing them online e-library which bypasses the following cumbersome tasks for thema. Producers/Journalists were searching shots on a custom built browser which is accessible in their

library. The software points out the Tape number where the shot is b. Producer/Journalist then take the tape out of the library shelf, watch it on a VTR, mark in/out time

codes c. Handover the tape\s and details to ingesting department for capture. The Ingestion dept captures

the shot and assigns it to corresponding video Editor for editing and packaging. The whole process easily takes away 30-60 mins of time and even more depending on the number of tapes, length of the selected clip etc.

How Movico has helped MCCSMovico Technologies at its Media Process Outsourcing division digitized all the footages from STAR News (DVCAM tapes) through its Capture Server. During the process as tape digitization finishes, the digitized content is been assigned to the Taggers for tagging and generation of e-library. Once shot marking and tagging is finished, its been sent for Quality checking by trained QC executives. After QC, the client visited our office for final approval and once its being approved we shipped back all the AV files, Tagging data with MB software to the MCCS office for Final installation.

The Benefit to the customerPost MediaBaron installation, Journalists, producers & editors can now easily access the online video database through MediaBaron catalog station. MediaBaron catalog station allows them to quickly retrieve low-res proxy videos through keyword search, preview them, create a rough cut. They can then export these rough cuts/shots/sequences to the Video editor directly using AAF/MXF/EDL export option in MediaBaron, so that the editor gets a Broadcast Quality Hi-Res in his NLE. This helped MCCS in saving tremendous amount of time in turning shots into a complete news package.
