FIRST GAMES • The first games were Galaxy Game 71’ and Pong- first computer game developed in 1972

to attract people to Computer Conferences. – Bushnell and Dabneys.

RECENT GAMES• The most recent gaming systems to have surfaced: X-Box 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo

Wii, before that X-Box, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo Game Cube.

NINTENDO • Nintendo has revolutionized the handheld gaming system.

• The Game Boy was one of the first and

has now been recognized as the hand-held game

system on the market.

PLAYSTATION• The first console in the series, the PlayStation, was the first video game console to ship

100 million units after 9 years and 6 months of its initial launch.

• Its successor, the PlayStation 2, is the best-selling console to date, having reached over 150 million units sold as of January 31, 2011. Sony's current console, the PlayStation 3, has sold over 62 million consoles worldwide as of December 31, 2011.
