Trilok Gurtu is a master of Indian music, tabla, percussion, Western

drumming-who plays a unique hybrid East-West drum setup A visionary composer whose musical adventurousness has led him to

creative fusions of Indian music with jazz, rock, classical, and ethnic music from all over the world.

Well known in the jazz community through his collaborations with Don Cherry, John McLaughlin, Joe Zawinul, and Pat Metheny, Gurtu first became known to US audiences as a member of the world/jazz fusion band Oregon.

Trilok has recorded many albums and received numerous prestigious nominations and awards including:

Best Artist - Asia/Pacific Nominee, BBC Radio 3 World Music Awards 2002, 2003, 2004

• Ronu Majumdar is a noted Indian flautist in the Hindustani Classical Music tradition.

• Ranendranath Majumdar, popularly known as Ronu was trained under his father, Dr. Bhanu Majumdar

• Pandit Vijay Raghav Rao, a music scholar, groomed Ronu into a concert flautist

• In 1981, Ronu won the first prize at the All India Radio competition,the President's Gold Medal

• In 1996,Ronu received a Grammy nomination for his work on the album Tabula Rasa with Bela Fleck

• Today, Ronu Majumdar is among the more popularmusicians on this instrument, and is especially popular with the younger generation for his creative improvisations

• A founder of several important Indian fusion groups including Summit with Fareed Haque, Kai Eckhardt and Zakir Hussain, Bombay Jazz with Larry Coryell and Ronu Majumdar etc.

• George's deep understanding of raga has lead to collaborations with India's most respected artists like Zakir Hussain, Hariprasad Chaurasia, U.Srinivas, Ronu Majumdar, A. Sivamani, Louiz Banks, Shankar Mahadevan and Dr. L. Subramanium

Vishwa Mohan Bhatt has attracted international attention by his successful indianisation of the western Hawaiian guitar with his perfect assimilation of sitar, sarod & veena techniques, by giving it a evolutionary design & shape and by adding 14 more strings helping him to establish the instrument MOHAN VEENA to unbelievable heights

• Outstanding features of Bhatt's baaj (style) are his natural ability to play the 'Tantrakari Ang' and incorporate the 'Gayaki Ang' on Mohan Veena which is the greatest advantage of this instrument over traditional Indian instrument like sitar, sarod and veena

• Being the foremost disciple of Pt. Ravi Shankar, Vishwa Mohan belongs to that elite body of musicians which traces its origin to the Moughal emperor Akbar's court musician TANSEN and his guru the Hindu Mystic Swami Haridas

• Satyajit Talwalkar is the son of tabla legend Suresh Talwalkar and Padma Talwalkar, two of the best-known practitioners of Indian classical music

• In following his father's footsteps, Satyajit has become a masterful accompanist to instrumental and vocal music

• He is also recognized as a solo artist, and is at ease in performing as a member of taal vadya kacheri (ensemble of Indian percussionists) and his duets with Western drum ensemble have received critical acclaim
