I decided to use a tripod because I want steady still shots and so that I didn’t have to hold the camera the whole time otherwise it would be very shaky. This will enhance the quality of my video. I wanted to use a tripod instead of a camera dolly because I felt there was no need to use one for the shots I am filming. I am able to film in the same position for the length of the song which is what I need and is vitally important. The tripod has a handle which I can move if I decide that I want to film a panning shot whilst filming. This is very useful to have available if I make any alterations along the way.

I chose the Pentax SLR K-30 for many reasons such as, I am able to adjust the aperture and zoom on the camera. As I am a photography student I am very familiar with SLR cameras and use them very often, this is to my advantage as I already know how to use the camera and how to fix and adjust the settings, this will also save time when setting up my equipment. I also chose this camera because it takes footage in full HD which is especially good for close up shots which will be very useful. I tested out shots before hand and I was very happy with the outcome. The camera uses an SD memory card to store the footage on which will be very handy as I could record a lot of footage and re-film any bits that I need to easily.

Why I chose the equipment
