Seibu’s Illinois & Wisconsin Wire EDM Dealer
In 2015, KGK-I started to sell and support Seibu’s line of
high quality wire EDMs.
Because we are a full service machine tool dealer with extensive EDM experience, KGK-I chose us to become the exclusive Seibu wire EDM dealer in Illinois & Wisconsin.
Although new to the U.S., Seibu wire EDMs are popular in the Japanese – Asian markets.
Seibu developed the worlds’ 1st wire EDM in
1972
Seibu EDMs are among the most
accurate & reliable wire EDMs made.
They are the only wire EDM which is
100% made in Japan.
Seibu wire EDMs are manufactured in their ISO certified factory located in southern Japanese city of Koga, Fukuoka.
Seibu castings are hand scrapped which
ensures high precision machining over a long
period of time.
Seibu’s high precision control room can hold the temperature within 0.5°C.

Seibu’s technology sets them apart from the competition.
Wire EDM Technology All in One AWT Start Hole Device Core Stitch EL Carbide Coating Thermal Adjust 24
All in One AWTIn 1995, Seibu developed the world’s fastest AWT. The wire is first annealed which straightens the wire. A high pressure jet of water then passes the wire through the round upper and lower wire guides.
This extremely reliable AWT can thread through wire break points and while the machine is submersed. Seibu’s AWT can also thread wire down to .002” diameter.
Start Hole AttachmentEvery operator has experience that “Oh No” moment when they realize a wire EDM start is missing or in the wrong place.
With Seibu’s start hole attachment, an operator can mount the device to the wire EDM and burn the start hole within minutes.
Core StitchSeibu’s “CORE STITCH” welds the wire EDM cores (slugs) so they do not fall and possibly cause damage to the machine. The cores can be removed by tapping lightly.
An operator can reduce the cutting-off process time by up to 97%.
EL Coating for CarbideDuring the wire EDM process, the dielectric water can dissolve the carbide’s cobalt binder. This will weaken the life of the carbide tool.
With Seibu’s EL Coating, during the final skim pass the eroded carbide is coated with a thin layer of brass (from the wire). This coating prevents the cobalt depletion resulting in increased tool life.
Thermal Adjust 24During long run EDM machining, a wire EDM upper head can move because of thermal expansion created by the change within the room temperature. For some shops it’s very difficult to keep their EDM room within the close temperature specs required by the manufacturer.
With Seibu’s Thermal Adjust 24 feature, thermal displacement can be corrected and thus eliminating costly machining errors created by a change in the room temperature.
