Meehanite Precision Ground Hand Scraped

Castings

Meehanite ribbed castings have a dense, fine grain structure ensures casting solidity and consistent physical propertieswhich ensures stability & rigidity.

Critical areas of the castings are precision groundin a temperature controlled room.

The castings are then hand scraped whichimproves the surface flatness resulting inimproved positioning, part accuracy for manyyears.

Page 7: KGK - Seibu Wire EDM

Only 50 individually hand crafted, high quality Seibu machines are produced per month.

Page 8: KGK - Seibu Wire EDM

This Seibu wire EDM is 30 years old an is still

producing quality parts.

Guideways are inspected for straightness and flatness.

MACHINE INSPECTIONREPORT

Each Seibu machine is thoroughlyinspected and must pass qualitycontrol test before it leaves thefactory. The report inspects all axisand documents the results which isaccompanied with each machine.

17” Annealing AWF

In 1995, Seibu developed the world’s mostreliable AWF. 17” of the wire is annealed whichstraightens the wire. This 99% reliable AWFcombined with our patented friction sensor canthread through wire break points while themachine is submersed.

Seibu’s AWT can also thread wire down to .002”diameter.

Start Hole AttachmentEvery operator has experience that“Oh No” moment when they realize awire EDM start is missing or in thewrong place.

With Seibu’s start hole attachment, anoperator can mount the device to thewire EDM and burn the start holewithin minutes.

Page 18: KGK - Seibu Wire EDM

Core StitchSeibu’s “CORE STITCH” welds the wireEDM cores (slugs) so they do not fall andpossibly cause damage to the machine. The cores can be removed by tappinglightly.

An operator can reduce cutting-offprocess time by up to 97%. This is theindustry’s first technology, and it willrevolutionize the efficiency of wire EDM.

EL Coating for Carbide

During the wire EDM process, thedielectric water can dissolve the carbide’scobalt binder. This will weaken the life ofthe carbide tool.

With Seibu’s EL Coating, during the finalskim pass the eroded carbide is coatedwith a thin layer of brass (from the wire). This coating prevents the cobalt depletionresulting in increased tool life.

Thermal Adjust 24During long run EDM machining, a wire EDMupper head can move because of thermalexpansion created by the change within theroom temperature. For some shops it’s verydifficult to keep their EDM room within theclose temperature specs required by themanufacturer.

With Seibu’s Thermal Adjust 24 feature, thermal displacement can be corrected andthus eliminating costly machining errorscreated by a change in the roomtemperature.
