main grid base line scenarios

Background of the main grid development plan in OstrobothniaVision:

Consumers, producers and electricity market have a safe, reliable and adequate transmission network at disposal.

Strategy:

Old and insufficient 220 kV transmission system is replaced by 400 and 110 kV network solutions.

Grounds:• New production• New consumption• Condition on old 220 kV network• Reliability• Keeping Finland as one price area• Use of 220 kV lines in 110 kV voltage level

makes connecting easier for wind power and distribution network.

Main grid development plan in Ostrobothnia220 kV network in Ostrobothnia will be replaced totally by the end of 2016.

Development is done in phases

1. New Uusnivala 400/110 kV transformer stationNew Seinäjoki – Tuovila 400+110 kV power line and new Tuovila 400/110 kV transformer station.(ready 2011)

2. New Ulvila – Kristinestad 400 kV power line and Kristinestad 400/110 kV transformer station.Renewal of Ulvila 400 and 110 kV station.

3. New Hirvisuo – Pyhänselkä 400 kV power line and new Hirvisuo 400/110 kV transformer station.Kristinestad – Tuovila – Hirvisuo power line change to 400 kV voltage level. Many 220 kV lines are changed to 110 kV voltage level.

New Jylkkä 400/110 kV transformer station and new Siikajoki 110 kV substation for connecting wind power.

400 kV line is in 220 kV use
