1. PEACE AND ORDER PROGRAM

• It is given priority in community life.

• The barangays are mandated to have their security measures.

• Barangay are to organize a “tanod” force to keep peace and order in the community.

• The “Tanod Brigade” is to act as security officers of barangay.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM/SK

• The SK has been given the responsibility to initiate programs designed to enhance the social, political, economic, cultural, intellectual, moral , spiritual and physical development of barangay youths.

• The SK is mandated in all barangays and SK chairman will be automatically member of the barangay council as an ex-officio.

• The Katarungang Pambarangay is the official term for the barangay justice system.

• The Katarungang Pambarangay is the Philippine version of the neighborhood conciliation and arbitration system.

• To promote speedy administration of justice

• To enhance the quality of justice dispensed by the court by relieving them of the court docket congestion.

• Codification is the process of collecting and systematizing all passed ordinances through classification and integrating similar measures, updating those that need modification and setting aside those that are no longer relevant.

BARANGAY ASSEMBLY

• The barangay assembly shall be composed of all persons who are actually residents of the barangay for at least six months , who are fifteen years of age and over, duly registered in the list of barangay assembly members kept by the barangay secretary.
